What's new

New
  • Lot lines now draw on the map in twenty more states. Counties publish their maps in two different ways, and R35 could only read one of them — so in California, Florida, Texas, Washington, Colorado and fifteen other states the map came up empty and told you the county had nothing, even though it did. R35 now draws the lines itself in those states.
  • Three more counties are on the map that were not before: Douglas County in Kansas, Kootenai County in Idaho, and Kandiyohi County in Minnesota.
Improved
  • When a view holds more lots than can be drawn at once, the map now says so instead of showing part of the grid as though it were all of it.
  • The map now tells you when a county's map service is having a problem, instead of saying the land has no lots on it.
Fixed
  • A lot you click on is now the lot you are standing on. On some counties' maps R35 could pick a neighbouring lot whose address text looked similar, which meant the owner and the boundary belonged to the property next door.
  • The street itself is no longer mistaken for a lot. Some counties publish their whole road network as one giant shape, and clicking an address that sits on the road could return that instead of the property.
  • The owner shown for a property is now dated. Some counties' records are years old — Iowa's are from 2017 — and R35 no longer treats an old name as today's owner, or files one onto a lead as the seller.
